MYOB E-Invoicing Norway FAQs

1. What is EHF and why does it matter for MYOB users?

EHF is Norway’s structured electronic format for invoices and credit notes, built on Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 and the European EN 16931 standard. Systems can read it automatically, which is why public bodies and many businesses prefer it to PDF invoices.

Peppol is an international network and set of standards for exchanging structured business documents. Norwegian EHF invoices travel over Peppol. Advintek connects your MYOB invoice data to this network where the recipient supports this route.

No separate access point is normally needed, because Advintek handles the Peppol connectivity for you. Your setup details are confirmed during onboarding.

4. Who needs to send e-invoices in Norway?

Electronic invoicing is mainly required for suppliers to Norwegian public bodies. Many private companies also adopt it voluntarily for efficiency or because customers ask for it. Check the requirements of your specific customers.

Yes. Advintek supports MYOB users in professional services, consulting, agencies and growing businesses that need structured Norwegian e-invoicing without changing how they manage their accounts.

Usually yes. Foreign suppliers invoicing Norwegian customers can generally reach them through Peppol, without a local Norwegian entity. Requirements depend on the customer, so confirm with each contracting authority.

7. How does Advintek receive invoices from MYOB?

Relevant invoice information is securely transferred from MYOB into Advintek’s e-invoicing environment for processing. The exact connection method depends on your MYOB product and is confirmed with you during setup.

8. Does this work with every MYOB product?

MYOB offers several products and versions, so compatibility can differ. Please confirm with Advintek which MYOB product and version you use during the initial assessment.

Typically: seller and buyer details, organisation numbers, VAT registration and tax breakdown, invoice number and dates, line items, totals, currency, payment terms and bank details, and any buyer reference the recipient requires. Advintek checks for missing details before sending.

It is the unique 9-digit identifier for Norwegian entities in the Brønnøysund Register Centre. It is commonly used to identify the buyer or seller and to address the invoice on Peppol, so it is important to hold it in your customer records.

11. What is ELMA?

ELMA is Norway’s address register for electronic documents, maintained by the Norwegian Digitalisation Agency (Digdir). It shows which organisations can receive EHF documents and through which access point. Recipient details are coordinated with the right delivery route before the invoice is sent.

VAT details are included as structured fields: tax categories, rates, taxable amounts and totals. Advintek validates these before transmission. Confirm current Norwegian VAT rates and rules with the tax authority or your accountant.

Credit notes can follow the same validation and delivery process as invoices. Please confirm the details for your MYOB setup during onboarding.

14. Can I invoice in Norwegian krone and other currencies?

Currency information is included in the structured invoice and checked during validation. Please confirm with Advintek which currency setups are supported for your MYOB account.

A PDF is a document people read. An e-invoice is structured, machine-readable data (usually XML) that systems process automatically. Public bodies generally need the structured version.

Transmission results and workflow outcomes are recorded, so you can follow each invoice’s progress without chasing recipients.

17. What if my customer is not registered on Peppol or in ELMA?

This can be identified before sending. Depending on the customer, you may need another delivery method or to ask them to register with a Peppol access point.

Yes. Monitoring and reporting show where invoices sit in the workflow and highlight documents that need completion or further action.

Faster delivery, fewer errors and quicker approvals typically shorten payment cycles. Structured data also makes matching payments easier for your customers.

20. Is my MYOB invoice data secure?

Advintek uses encrypted communication, controlled permissions and ISO 27001-certified practices to protect confidential invoice information.

Invoice details and processing events are kept organised, giving clearer visibility across the invoice journey and supporting audit needs. Norwegian bookkeeping rules generally require records to be kept for several years, so check the current retention period with your accountant.

Advintek supports compliance continuity by helping identify processing issues and correct affected invoices, so your workflow can adapt without replacing MYOB.

23. How long does setup take?

It depends on your MYOB product, invoice data, customer base and testing needs. Advintek can give an estimate after an initial review of your setup.

Yes. A testing phase checks your data, formats and connectivity before live invoices are sent.

25. What support does Advintek offer?

Implementation guidance, onboarding, and ongoing support, including help with connectivity, configuration, validation issues and electronic invoicing processes.
